CandleFaith iOS App Terms of Service

1. Who We Are

The CandleFaith iOS app is operated by a sole trader business registered in Australia (ABN and GST registered). By downloading or using the CandleFaith iOS app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app and do not use it.

2. Spiritual Content — Not Professional Advice

CandleFaith provides spiritual encouragement, scripture, prayer content, and faith tools for personal devotional practice. Our content is intended to complement your faith life — it is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind, including:

• Professional medical or mental health treatment
• Psychological or psychiatric care
• Legal advice or representation
• Financial planning, investment, or tax advice
• Licensed pastoral or professional counselling

Any statistics or research referenced in the app are cited for inspirational purposes only and do not constitute medical claims. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact your local emergency services or visit findahelpline.com for crisis support in your country.

3. Subscriptions & Purchases

The app offers optional paid subscriptions that unlock premium features. All purchases are processed by Apple via the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information.

• Current pricing and plan details are displayed in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by region
• Where a free trial is offered, your subscription begins automatically at the end of the trial unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
• No partial refunds are issued for unused time, except where required by law or Apple's refund policy
• A free tier is always available — subscriptions are for access to additional premium features only

Subscriptions are a voluntary feature-access decision only. We will never suggest that your spiritual practice or standing depends on payment.

4. Use of the App

You agree to use the CandleFaith iOS app only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app, or use it in any way that could harm or misuse it.

5. Intellectual Property

All app content — including prayers, devotionals, audio, graphics, and software — is our property or that of our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Scripture passages are drawn from public domain Bible translations. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written permission.

6. Privacy & Religious Data

Your use of the app is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. Religious beliefs are sensitive personal information under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and a special category under GDPR. We apply the highest standard of protection to this data.

7. Content Changes

App content — including prayers, devotionals, scripture selections, and features — may be updated, modified, or removed at any time without prior notice as the app evolves. We are not liable for any changes to content.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law — including the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2, Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) — we exclude liability for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or reliance on its content. Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Age Requirements

The CandleFaith iOS app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has used the app, contact us at [email protected].

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect changes. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law & Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Australia. If you access the app from outside Australia, you are responsible for compliance with your local laws.
